Youth sports have seen a 46% cost surge, even as participation hits record levels (Aspen Institute, State of Play 2025 — average family spending rose 46% since 2019 to roughly $1,016 a year, twice the rate of broader inflation). When you're paying for club fees, travel, and tournament entry, the memories better be worth it. Idaho youth soccer tournament photography is about more than capturing a few portraits — it's about capturing the pathway. This business didn't start in a studio — it started on the sidelines. As a youth soccer parent and coach, and a US Navy veteran, I know exactly what these weekends cost families, financially and emotionally. That's why we set up on-site at Simplot Sports Complex in Boise for the three tournaments that anchor Idaho's competitive soccer calendar: the Idaho State Cup, the IYSA (Idaho Youth Soccer Association) Director's Cup, and the USYS (US Youth Soccer) Northwest President's Cup.

We deliver on-field action photography, team portraits, and our signature 8×24 panoramic team print — produced and printed on-site, same day. No waiting weeks for a gallery link. We capture the real moments, the real sweat, and the real pride of Treasure Valley soccer.

1. Idaho's Competitive Soccer Pathway, Start to Finish

These three events aren't isolated weekends — they're a connected pathway. The State Cup is the qualifying gateway. Top teams advance to the President's Cup and Far West Regionals. The Director's Cup is the massive open tournament that fills the same May weekend. The same club names show up across more than one event, and that's what ties the whole spring together.

11 of the 13 Idaho teams at the Northwest President's Cup also played the 2026 State Cup. The same kids we shot at State Cup in April were back at Simplot in June for the regional. This is the spine of our coverage.

2. Idaho State Cup

The stakes don't get higher than this. The Idaho State Cup is a direct pathway to the President's Cup (PCUP) and Far West Regionals (FWR). To even step on the pitch, teams have to play qualifying games in an IYSA- or USYS (US Youth Soccer)-sanctioned league — the Idaho State League (ISL), Snake River League, or WISL. The format runs from a Round Robin weekend (U12–U17) straight through to the Semifinals and Finals. It's the highest-stakes route a Treasure Valley team can take.

This past spring, roughly 93 Idaho teams competed across 12 divisions. We were there capturing Idaho State Cup photography for clubs like Idaho Rush 13 Elite, Idaho Falls Futbol Club (IFFC) 2007B Claret–Howell, Idaho Juniors 13B Neon, and Idaho Rush 09 Elite. These aren't just names on a bracket — those four teams went all the way to the USYS National Presidents Cup. The IFFC 2007B Claret–Howell squad has the cleanest full-journey story: U19 State Cup → Northwest President's Cup → Nationals.

3. IYSA Director's Cup

Held each May at Simplot Sports Complex in Boise, the IYSA Director's Cup is the volume event — and it's a blast. With Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions spanning U9 through U19, it draws the widest field of the year. We're talking about 209 teams across 30 clubs, playing nearly 369 matches. This is where you see little kids getting their first tournament panoramic right alongside graduating seniors playing their final club matches.

If you're looking for Director's Cup soccer photos in Boise, we covered the biggest clubs in the state. Idaho Rush had 98 match appearances. North Boise Futbol Club had 93. We photographed Global Sports Academy U10B Academy Black, Idaho Juniors 14B Black, Boise Timbers 2016 Timbers Elite, and Sun Valley Soccer Club Boys 2014. The atmosphere is festival-like, and the energy on the younger fields is pure joy. That's the heart of youth sports.

4. Northwest President's Cup

This is the marquee weekend. The Northwest President's Cup is a multi-state regional championship for U13–U19 boys and girls. IYSA hosted it in Boise this year, and 75 teams from across the Northwest region — Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming — converged on Simplot. Teams that earn their way out of their own states come here to fight for a national title. The hashtag says it all: #ClaimTheCup.

When parents search for Northwest President's Cup photos or USYS Presidents Cup Boise, this is the section they're looking for. Shooting Trio photographed every team in the field — all 75 teams across 12 divisions, not just the Idaho teams. Full-tournament coverage, every team, on-site. We caught Idaho Rush 13 Elite and Idaho Rush 09 Elite advancing to Nationals, along with CGA Elite 10G and CGA Elite 11G making it to the finals. Idaho Surf 11G finished with a strong record. We also saw the same IFFC group we shot at State Cup go on to dominate the U19 boys bracket. That's the pathway in action.

5. What We Shot On-Site at Simplot

Simplot Sports Complex soccer photography is a beast of its own. It's an open complex with a ton of fields, which means you have to know where to look before the play even develops. We deliver three things on-site: action photography, team portraits, and panoramic team prints. The prints are produced on-site, same day — no waiting around.

Our team has been photographing youth soccer for years — we know where the ball is going. The lighting, the angle, the crop — that's our job. Your kid's effort? That's their job. Our job is to make sure that effort is preserved in a magazine-quality image.

This is the hero. Why settle for a 8x10 when you can have an 8×24 panoramic soccer team print? It's magazine-quality — the kind of keepsake coaches and parents actually hang on the wall. Give your team something that'll get them hyped before every game.

We print these on-site at the tournament using professional dye-sub printers (DNP DS820A). Same-day turnaround. You walk off the pitch, we hand you the print. Pricing is $40 for a single print. Bulk team orders are available so every kid gets one. The 8×24 panoramic is a physical print only — there's no digital version of the banner.

And it's not just soccer — we bring the same on-site panoramic setup to cheer competitions and baseball tournaments too, wherever the action is. If you need a soccer team panoramic banner Idaho clubs can be proud of, this is how we do it.

7. Action Photography: Catching the Game's Real Moments

Idaho youth soccer action photos are all about catching the game's real moments — the breakaway, the diving save, the sideline celebration after a late winner. At Simplot, the shooting conditions are wide open, which means we're moving constantly to track the light and the play. We don't do posed, awkward, fluorescent-lit gym photos that look nothing like the actual energy of the sport. We shoot on the field, in the sun, in the dirt. The photo is what matters — not the weather, the 105-degree heat, or the 6 a.m. call time. We show up.

8. Team Portraits & Senior Standouts

We capture team group photos, which we then turn into the panoramic prints. These are natural-background, on-field portraits lit by studio strobes. As the tournaments move into the older divisions (U17, U18, U19) at the President's Cup and Director's Cup, we start seeing graduating seniors. For a lot of these kids, this is their final club soccer weekend before college. That's a natural bridge to our senior yearbook and portrait photography services. We make sure they get a sendoff image that matches the moment.

9. Why These Photos Matter

A season is a blur. You spend months driving to practice, washing uniforms, packing coolers, and sitting in folding chairs. Then suddenly it's June, the brackets are set, and the year is over. One great image of your kid at the State Cup — covered in sweat, eyes locked on the ball — is the thing that lasts. It's the physical proof of the road-trip weekends, the pride of qualifying, and the team that became a second family.

We photograph youth soccer team photos Treasure Valley families can actually hold onto. I started this because I cared about the photos. That hasn't changed.
