We're on a mission to eliminate disappointing sports photos
Traditional School Photographers
- Generic studio backgrounds
- Rushed photos
- Limited selection
- Limited poses
- Poor lighting
Shooting Trio Photography
- On-field with natural backgrounds
- Smiles and game face
- 7 day turnaround
- Multiple creative poses
- Dynamic lighting

Fair is fair: a studio shoot is quicker to schedule and never gets rained out. If all you need is a wallet print, it does the job. It just doesn't hold up blown four feet tall on a banner, and that's what these photos become.

Real feedback from the Treasure Valley sports community
Our MTB pictures are usually taken at the back of our school, but Mark wanted them to better represent our sport. He asked about places we ride, so he could scout out areas for great shots. When we mentioned we rode at Bogus, he drove up there to fin...

Former Coach. Father of Athletes. Professional Photographer.
I started Shooting Trio Photography because I was frustrated with the low-quality sports photos my own kids received from traditional school photographers. As a former coach and father of athletes, I know what makes a great team photo – and it's not a rushed studio session with generic backgrounds. Read the full origin story →
Our mission is simple: Eliminate low-quality sports banners by providing magazine-quality images at prices teams and parents can afford.
We photograph your athletes on actual football fields, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds – the same places where they play and compete. This approach creates authentic, natural portraits that capture the true spirit of youth sports.
When you work with Shooting Trio, you're working with someone who understands the importance of these moments. I've been in the stands, on the sidelines, and behind the camera. I know what parents want to remember and what athletes are proud to display.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with Shooting Trio
You pick one of two options for the whole team. No money up front: we photograph the team at no cost, and families order only the photos they love from a private online gallery, with prints shipped to their home. Or a $40 per athlete flat fee: one payment per team, and every edited photo is included in one shared gallery. Senior banners are $45 flat, and every price is on our For Coaches page.
Photos are ready within one week of picture day. We understand that parents and athletes are excited to see their photos, so we prioritize quick turnaround without sacrificing quality. Digital downloads are available immediately after processing, and print orders ship directly to your home address. With the $40 flat fee, every edited photo arrives in one shared gallery for the team.
Absolutely! We serve the entire Treasure Valley including Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Kuna, Caldwell, Star, and surrounding areas. If your team or league is within reasonable driving distance, we'd love to work with you. Contact us to discuss your specific location.
One flat fee per athlete covers every edited digital image from the session: individual portraits, buddy photos, and team images. There are no packages to choose from and nothing extra to buy. We bring studio lighting to your gym or field and photograph the whole roster in one session. See our media day page for full details and pricing.
We monitor weather closely and will communicate with you in advance if conditions look unfavorable. For outdoor shoots, we have flexible rescheduling policies at no additional charge. We can also shoot in covered areas or indoor facilities when weather doesn't cooperate. Our goal is to ensure your athletes get great photos regardless of the forecast.
Yes! We can incorporate sponsor logos, team banners, or custom graphics into composite images and banners. For leagues or organizations with multiple teams, we can create consistent branding across all teams. Let us know what you have in mind and we'll make it happen.
We offer makeup sessions for athletes who miss the original media day. For team composites, we can often composite missing athletes into the team photo if they come in for an individual session (a deposit is often required). We do our best to ensure every athlete is included.
Great question! For us to come on site, we look for rosters of about 20 athletes or more; that's what makes the full setup worth firing up at your field or gym. Rolling with just 6 or 7 players (see what we did there)? Smaller squads can still book (the flat fee has an $800 minimum, or choose no money up front), and on the big end we've covered 100+ teams at a single tournament. The only real requirement? Your athletes need to show up ready to play (full uniforms!). And if they throw in a 6-7 hand gesture for the team shot, that's just chef's kiss.
